British Heart Foundation - Mending Broken Hearts Appeal

Clare Clinton is part of a dedicated team of volunteers who are getting Britain’s leading contemporary artists to create new works of art to raise money and awareness for the British Heart Foundations 'Mending Broken Hearts Appeal'.

The appeal is one of the most important fundraising efforts ever undertaken by the British Heart Foundation and has a simple goal; to fund the research that could literally ‘mend the broken hearts' of millions. This goal although medically achievable, is currently suffering from a lack of resources and investment. This is where Clare's fantastic project aims to help.

Clare has enlisted an impressive number of leading British artists, including Sir Peter Blake, Brendan Neiland and Gavin Turk to create original artwork based on the theme mending broken hearts. These unique pieces will be auctioned, and made into two limited edition portfolios of silkscreen prints to be sold, with both activities raising funds for the appeal. All artworks have been created specifically for the BHF and will become icons for the public appeal in 2011.

We think the project demonstrates a fantastic collaboration of volunteer heart and creative passion and wish Clare and the BHF every success. The artists have really engaged with their brief and the collection of art is as diverse in style as it is in production techniques.

You can view the culmination of the volunteers efforts and artists hard work by visiting the CCA Galleries website.
